Warm Winter Wishes

Ahhhh, I just LOVE Christmas. I am a Christmas freak BIG TIME. I love the songs especially. I love the crazy busy malls. I love baking. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas dinner above all. It's just my most favourite meal EVER!
Last year I made a card just like this one only switched it up a bit. I think this set, Season of Friendship is a great set especially if you're starting out. You can incorporate so much with it.....winter, summer, fall and spring. I suppose that's why it's called SEASON of Friendship (DUH). HA HA. Great set, love using it and I hope you like how I've used it.

I hope to get some shopping done soon. I haven't even started!!
Thanks for popping by and I hope you are enjoying this holiday season too!

Fire Chief Card

I know I know this is a NON Christmas item!!! CRAZY!
I jusy have to say that I am in love with my Cricut machine! HOLY MOLY! I ordered it so long ago and I have only been able to play with it recently. This was one of my first creations with the Paper Doll cartridge it came with. My cousin Stuart is a fire fighter in Brantford Ontario so I thought I'd make him a fire "man" card for his birthday. (looks like a fire "boy" though to me ... LOL) Anyhow, yes he weill like it but I was actually thinking more about his kids when I made it. I think his wife and kids will like it more than he will. That's ok with me. So the long and short of this post is ..... if you don't have a Cricut or have been thinking of getting one YOU MUST!!! It's so fun and very easy to use. I highly recommend it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

CLASSIC CHRISTMAS CARD

WELL HELLO EVERYONE!!!
It's officially less than a month until Christmas. WOW!! Time is just passing buy. It's hard for me to get in the Christmas spirit because we don't have any snow yet! I am told by Mr. Weather man that next week's the week! YEAH....I love snow at Christmas time. How can you have Christmas with no snow?? Well, I suppose some of you are used to it if you're down south hey? Very odd to me that's all. Just used to a white Christmas.

On to the post. This card was one I made for a swap last month. I called it Classic Christmas because to me it looks like an old Christmas card my grandmother would send out. The Lovely as a Tree set is so beautiful. I love working with it! I hope you can see the sparkles on the card. I'm afraid the picture just does not do it justice.

Anyhow, I thank you so much for popping in. Enjoy your weekend!

WELCOME BABY BOY!!!

Hey hey hey!!!

So I hope your week is off to a great start!!!
My friend (and upline) Heather has just had her 4th (YES 4TH) baby!!! I can't even imagine. She has been blessed with a beautiful baby boy, COLE. This was the card I made for her as a congrats and a welcome to Cole. I am a button HOARDER so I decided to combat that and I have used 4 (COUNT THEM!!) FOUR on this card. Crazy I know but I had to give some up!! It was fun to make a baby boy card as many of my friends lately have had girls. CONGRATS to the Summers family!!

Thanks for popping by today.
Have a great day!!

Same layout and colours....different card

Hello ALL!!!

So a couple of months ago our make and take was a card that used this beautiful colour combination!!! Please scroll down a few posts and check out that card. THIS version I created for my Christmas card class. Kinda cute hey??? I ADORE this colour combo and love that it's an unconventional Christmas card. NO RED AND GREEN HERE!! Love it.

Thanks so much for checking in today and enjoy your week!!

My daughter the chef........

Well, to go to convention or not to???? That is the question. Some days I'm all over it....other days I think maybe I'll just stalk people's blogs like I normally do! This layout was inspired by a layout I saw on a convention board on someones blog. SO, if you are the creator of a CHEF layout that looks something like the LEFT layout above---THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!!! I created this layout using the GUEST BOOK Simply Scrappin' Kit by SU. I just added some Ridinghood Red paper and ribbon as an additional colour because the kit is pretty black, white and grey for me.
I hope you like the layout and I'm sorry the picture really doesn't do it much justice.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend with the ones you love :)
Take care---Paula :)

Snow Day!!

Hey all and sorry I haven't been here in a while!

So today it snowed. YUP....it was actually snowing. Well at least Halloween is over so I say "why not snow?" Last year I was on mat leave at this time so I had the Christmas tree up on Nov 14th. That seems so early to me this year. After all that's only in a weeks time!! Crazy. I think this year I may wait a bit longer BUT I can tell you right now because I'm a Christmas FREAK it will be up before Dec 1st!! GUARANTEED!

On to the post!! This was a card we made in my Christmas card class. I am in love with the ornament punch and stamp set out of SU's holiday mini. How can you not love this??!! I hope you like the card. Can't believe I have to start writing Christmas cards soon!! Time just flies doesn't it?

Thanks for checking in. Take care!

Finally a Halloween post!!

So by now you can probably guess that I'm not much for Halloween (which is horrible because it's my husband's birthday on Halloween). I am ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS!!! I finally got around to doing a Halloween layout using the Guest Book Simply Scrappin' Kit by SU. If you know the kit I am talking about it's geared towards weddings......I am not into scrapping our wedding. I thought the one DSP looks Halloween-ish so I went with it. What do you think???
This was Halloween last year. I can't wait to take the girls this year. It will be sooo fun!!!! They will love it as will I!!

Thanks for popping by today!!

Ready, set SNOW!!!!!!!!!

OK not really but man it was cold out today!! We went apple picking today and my poor girls were FREEZING. I have to admit I was a bit too. None the less we had a ball running about and yes picking loads of apples (thanks to my husband).

So where have I been??? CHRISTMAS CARD CLASSES like mad. I'm done them now so I feel like I can breathe a bit. This was one of the cards we made. Simple card but I have to say I am in love with Basic Gray and Real Red together. Who knew???

I hope you like it too.
Take care and enjoy your turkey weekend (to my Canadian friends).
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Christmas Card

Hey all and happy weekend!!

So last weekend I attended my monthly stampers meeting and this BEAUTIFUL make and take is what we made. DON'T YOU JUST LOVE LOVE IT??? I do. Who would have thought to put those colours together? Not me. I can assure you that I will be in the future!
Thanks goes out to my sister in law Renee Ballard who is also a SU demo for creating this wonderful creation!! Love it!!

The stamp set and punch used to make this card is in SU's current holiday mini catalogue.

Take care and thanks for popping by.

DASHER SWAP

Hey everyone:

Well, before we know it Christmas will be here. Can you even believe it!!?? I am a Christmas NUT so I love participating in Christmas swaps. This was my swap card that I created for a swap I was in with my friends in our Simply Stars group (Heather Summers downline group). Everyone did so well....I LOVE swapping with these ladies!!! We are doing it again in Oct so be sure to be on the look out for that card.

It's been a great day. There is a local annual fair here that I used to go to as a child. Toady after about 15 years my husband and I took our girls there. What a wonderful day it was. They loved it and it brought back many memories for me. I'm exhausted so night night.

Thanks so much for visiting today.

Happy Anniversary!!

Hey all!!

Well today is a special day for me. My hubby Paul and I celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary!!! WOW. I remember our wedding day like it was yesterday and whoa....so much has happened in 8 years. New home, new puppy, new cars, 2 beautiful girls.....the list goes on and on!! I am so grateful to have my dear Paul in my life. Love you honey!!
So of course he would expect a home made card from me and of course life is sooooo super busy that I feel I don't have time to stamp for fun BUT just stamp for clubs and classes (unfortunate I know!!) I can't NOT give him a card from me so I whipped up this little ditty in NO TIME!!! I used the new CUTE CUTE level one hostess set and finally I broke open my Soft Suede paper!! LOVE IT! I even broke out the Crystal Effects for him too. Now that's LOVE!! LOL.
Well I hope he likes it. He will get it tomorrow night when we go out for dinner.

Take care all and enjoy your week.

Guest Book Kit

HEY Ladies:

So I have a monthly scrappin' club that I just LOOOOOVE!!! We have so much fun and everyone is so into their creations. This month we are getting together in a weeks time so I thought I'd post something we will be making. The kit Guest Book is completely intended for scrapping a wedding BUT I only scrap my kids lives SO I had to be a little creative and switch it up a bit. On one of the convention boards I saw a beautiful winter layout using SU's Snowflake #2 die (Pg 202 of the IBC). To whom ever created such a beautiful layout, it was my inspiration!! I obviously have yet to add pictures BUT once the snow hits (which I hear we will get hit hard this year) I will then add my pics! I think that black and white winter shots would really look nice. It's such a simple layout and wintry isn't it? I hope you like it!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Kiddies are back to school next week so I wish you all a happy labour day weekend.

Take care.

Another SUNNY DAYS layout!

Hey you!

So as I mentioned I would post a Sunny Day layout and well..here it is!! I have yet to add a title BUT I liked how it turned out. This kit is just too easy to use! You can't go wrong. These particular pictures were taken this past May on our deck. Notice what my daughter is wearing. A full "jogging" suit with a vest. It was so cold still and it was the END of May!!! What a summer we've had (or lack there of I should say).

Sorry this one's a short post. Too much to do and never enough hours in the day. I hope you enjoy your week!!!

Take care and see you soon.

CHARMING!

Well hello everyone!!!

It's Sunday and I'm back to work tomorrow from a weeks vacation. BOOOOOOOOO!!! Such a great week off with family and friends. Back to the real world! SO bummed!!

Last week we had our August SU upline meeting and as always we made a make and take. This was the beautiful card we made. This card uses the new Charming stamp set from SU. It's in their Holiday Mini catalogue that comes out Sept 1st. As a demo of course you get the option to purchase from the minis earlier and let me tell you this mini is WONDERFUL!!! It's jam packed with beautiful stamp sets, paper and even a bit of jewels!!! Yes you heard me right, JEWELS! You will have to check it out on line after Sept 1st on Stampin' Up's website.

Thanks so much for checking me out today!!! Much appreciated. Have a great Sunday!

PONY TAILS!

Happy Friday everyone!

I am on vacation this week and I can't even believe how fast the week has gone. Why does a work week go so slow and yet a vacation week flies by? NOT FAIR! OK there's my rant for the day.

This was a layout I did last month for my scrappers club. I used the Sunny Day kit and JUST LOVED IT!!! This kit is sooooo easy to work with and it's beautiful! These pictures were taken of Berlynn a couple of months ago with her first ponytails in! So cute hey? I think so!!!

Well I will be posting some more scrappin kit layouts in a few days so be sure to check back in ok?

Thanks for popping by!

SWAP CARD

Hey all!!

So the week is almost over (yippee) and that means A LONG WEEKEND is ahead!!! I am sooooo excited let me tell you. I need it!!!

SO my upline Heather (see her blog to the side >>>>> ) organized a swap. The only catch was that everything you used had to be current and not retired SU stuff. SO, this is MY swap. My only complaint TOO MUCH CUTTING!!! Never again I vow to myself. We are doing a Christmas swap soon and I already know I will have ZERO cutting involved. I learned my lesson on this one.

Anyhow, I hope you like it and thanks for checkin' in today. Enjoy your LOOOOOONG weekend. I know I will.

Love Sparkles Layout!

Hey all and Happy Monday???
No Monday is ever happy is it? KIDDING.

OK so I'm hard core into scrapbooking. I have a club that meets monthly (thank goodness because I would be so behind if it wern't for them) and this was a layout we did this month. It uses the Love Sparkles Kit from SU and I just loved the kit. Ummmm, maybe that's because it has pink and brown in it???!!! My favourite combo!
These Simply Scrappin' Kits are a great way to scrapbook because EVERYTHING matches. You just can't go wrong. I love them!!!

I thank you for popping by today and enjoy your day what ever you may be doing.

BABY SHOWER FAVOURS!!

Hello all and HAPPY FRIDAY. Well not really for me. I am home sick with strep throat and man is it brutal. I feel like I have swollowed a bunch of knives. Horrible.
Ok, enough about me. I am hosting a baby shower on Sunday...YES, this Sunday. I'll be better by then I swear!! :) Of course I had to make the favours so this is what I came up with. I wanted something easy that I could recreate 25 times. This was my solution. I used the Top Note die and scored it in half. I used SU's Beautiful Butterfly die and SU's Riveting stamp set (now retired--Booooo) and voila! EASY EASY EASY!! A friend from work (HEY LINDA!!!!) gave me the bags. YUP, just like that. Her daughter was just married and had them left over so that was that. She dropped them off to my place (so nice because as you know I'm a little fragile at the moment) and so convenient. I hope you like them....I hope Jen does too.

Jen had baby Lauren about 6 weeks early. Mom and baby are great. We can't wait to celebrate on Sunday!!

Take care all.

Favourite colour......

HI all and so sorry for not posting for so long. I swear I am going to promise to post more often. Life is just so busy!!

So I titled this "favourite colour" because BASIC GRAY is my current favourite paper right now. I know Kiwi Kiss is no longer (weep weep) but I LOVE it with Basic Gray. Don't you???? I am using this gray in a swap I am doing so stay tuned to see what NEW colours I have mixed with that. SO versatile!!

I finally got to use my SU Beautiful Butterflies die. I LOVE that thing!! Quick butterflies in only minutes. Doesn't get any better than that!!

Well thanks to you all for stopping buy. Take care and have a great weekend!!

Ladybug Birthday!

Hey there everyone!!

So, as soon as I saw this card on DAWN'S blog (see to the right at my blog roll) I knew I had to make one of my own. My little cousin is turning 3 so I thought a ladybug card was perfect for her. Is this not so sweet? Wish I thought of it!! It's super easy to make and Dawn even has a handy video on her blog so you can recreate it. SUPER EASY!I just added some grass from the Inspired By Nature set to give it a bit of a scenic look to it. Hope you like it.

Anyhow, short post today but I do appreciate you stopping by.
Enjoy your Monday :)

Love Sparkles Scrappin Kit

Hey all!!

So as most of you are aware Stampin' Up's new catalogue release date is July 1st. I am loving the new catty and can't wait to place my first order on July 1st!!! YIPPEE. This scrappin' kit was in the "old" catty and has made it to the new one. It's soooooo nice plus the fact that it has pink and brown helps. My favourite! This layout is one I did for my scrapbook club. We will meet in July and I can hardly wait. Anyhow, I thought I'd share it with you.

Take care and happy stamping.

I'm back with flowers!

Oh my GOODNESS!!! HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!
I have missed you!!
I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while. You know how life gets. BUSY BUSY BUSY. We went to Mexico and after that life has just flown by. I won't bore you with the details and no we did not get that nasty swine flu literally we've just been pluggin' away. With the nice weather here we have been outside all the time playing and gardening. Just plain having fun!

So on to some stamping. I have seen these flower pot cards EVERYWHERE and there is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. It's much smaller than I thought it would be...never can tell by a photo but OMG I loved making it. The "pot" part was easy it's the flowers and the leaves that need a bit of attention. Placement of those is key when making the card. When you slide your "greeting" part back in the pot, you want to be sure your flowers hang OVER the pot. Looks better that way. SO make sure you don't just stick everything down. It's a science I tell ya.
I used a few different sets for this card if I recall I used Doodle This for the flower and for the leaf I used the set we got free at Regionals, Best Wishes and More. I had to cut both the leaves and the flowers out. A pain but so worth it....right?

Anyhow, please let me know what you think. I'd LOVE to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by. I do appreciate it!

Trendy Trees (finally!)

Hey all and today marks the beginning of a new week!

So I have had this set for a while and have been avoiding it. This is a set that I think could be used with the Stampama Jig. I have never used it personally BUT so much lining up is required with this set that it's so tough to get it straight. When in doubt cover with ribbon like I have!! LOL!! Anyhow, I do love the set. It's so cute and like it's title...Trendy!

Hope you like it.
Take care and thanks for checking in today. Enjoy your week.

Fifth Ave Floral

OK so where do I begin????
I love this stamp set....I am in love with Basic Grey card stock.....I love Building my own brads.....I love it all!!! This card is what I like to call Shabby Chic. The colours I did not come up with. They are pretty popular right now and rightly so. I just love them together....Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze & Black. I'm thinkin' I better stock up on these before they retire this summer (the In Colours that is). So sad to see them go!! Just when you get used to them, POOF, they are gone.

I do hope you enjoy this card. I also hope you have this stamp set because it is well worth having.
Take care and happy Wednesday!!

Cupcake Birthday.

Hey all and happy weekend!!

So do you ever buy a stamp set and then it sits there just waiting to be used? I LOVE this set called Crazy for Cupcakes (I think) so I purchased it and then it just sat there....all neglected just waiting to be used. Finally I got it out and voila!! Here you have a simple birthday card that uses Bella Rose DSP too. Easy peasy!! Hope you like it.

Thanks for checking in. Much appreciated!

Hey all and TGIF!!

Haven't posted in a while. You know how life gets....BUSY BUSY right??? Always!
This will be a short post as it's really Thurs night as I type this and I should really be in bed. But nope, I'm on the computer. So addictive!!

Made this Thank You card in my all occasions card class. Brought out my Inspired by Nature set again which I forgot I had. I do love that grass!!

Manly B-day!

Hello everyone.

It's Thursday already!! Where has the week gone?
The weather so far this week has been BEAUTIFUL. Spring is sooooooo in the air. The birds are out, it's lighter later and we even played outside after work yesterday. So wonderful to see that snow gone.

So as part of my All Occsions Card class I included this "manly" b-day card. I am ALWAYS in need of a masculine card and I thought this paper was PERFECT for it. It's the Manchester SU DSP paper. LOVE IT!!

Well folks, short and sweet today. Enjoy your Thursday!!
Take care and as always, thanks for checking in today.

Baby Bird!!

Happy Monday folks!!

As you know I did an all occasions card class a while ago and this was the baby card we made. When I do a baby card in a class I like to make it a gender neutral card....so no pink and bue. This way you can obviously use it for both when it comes time to use it. This time it was a super bright card. It's kind of a plain card but I just didn't want to add anymore to it. What do you think? It uses the Good Friend set (I love anything with a bird) and then some Bella Rose paper along with that POP of Pacific Point paper. Like I said simple and easy.

ENJOY.

Kiwi Thank You

Hey everyone and happy weekend!!

It's Sunday today and if it's anything like yesterday it will be beautiful out! SO excited to go to the park and spend some time out doors!!

This was a card we made at my "All Occasions Card Class." The class is just as it sounds. We made 10 cards for all kinds of occasions. New baby, thank yous, birthdays etc. It was a great night and thanks to those who signed up.

Hope you like this one. It was easy and one of my favourites.

March 05, 2009

Happy Spring!!

GOOOOOOOD DAAAAAAY All....

Well Spring is soooooo around the corner. I can just feel it. The sun has been shining and it's been beautiful. OK so they call for snow on the weekend but for now it's just beautiful!!

So I decided to take part in the Mojo Monday sketch. I have often seen people use balloon stamps as easter eggs and that's just what I did. This is an old set....mabe from last year's Sale A Bration I'm not sure BUT I do like it and using the balloons as eggs worked for me. I hope you like it. There's a lotta layers goin' on.

Thanks so much for looking today and have a fab weekend!!!
Paula

NOTE: I didthe masking technique on this card. I stamped an easter egg, cut it out and then placed it over one that I had already stamped and then stamped an egg beside it. GET IT?? Fun and easy technique. Give it a go!!

Sale A Bration STUFF

Good day everyone and happy Monday.

Well another week is here. Can you even believe it's March? CRAZY!!
I did this card using the DSP in the sale a bration catty......I wanna say it's called Darling Dots??? HUmmmmm. I forget really. Sorry. I also used the So Saffron ribbon from the bundle too. I love this ribbon bundle!! This to me is a "Spring" type card. The sun has been shining lately so I feel like Spring is in the air (HOPEFULLY!!)
Well, take care and enjoy your day today.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

WELCOME BABY GIRL!!

Hey ladies!

So sorry I haven't posted in a while. Haven't had much time to stamp I'm afraid. So sad really. I love stamping and this full time career of mine is getting in the way!! BOOOO!!! Anyhow I finally had time to make this baby girl card for a friend who, yep you guessed it, just had a baby girl!! Go figure!! HA HA. Anyhow I even decorated the inside (I usually never do this but just felt like it this time).
I received my new pack of Raspberry Tart DSP a while ago and FINALLY used it here. I love this paper!!! Hope you like it!!

Take care and thanks for checking in on this sunny Sunday!!
Paula

PS--colours used here were Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White (along with the Raspberry Tart DSP0 Stamp set was Nursery Necessities. Bye for now!!
